Seattle Recap: Pike Place Market

I promised I’d dedicate an entire Seattle post to the market, which we actually went to 3 times in 4 days. Why? I have no idea. To read more about my spring break trip to Seattle, look here and here.

Pike Place Market is an enormous public market in downtown Seattle, right on the water.

It’s famous for its fresh seafood vendors (ichthyophobes, look away).

Who knew shrimp had faces?

There are also a lot of produce stands…

…and flower vendors.

We left our mark on a graffitied table while eating those enormous donuts.

Dorky

We saw how cheese is made at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese (which made us, the cheese averse, want to blow chunks) and Chris bought a truffle at the Simply Seattle Chocolate Box.

The chunks we would blow look similar to this, now that I think about it.

Finally, we took some time out to enjoy the view of the Sound.

Have you ever been to Pike Place? Who’s your favorite vendor?

  3. What a great post! Your photography is excellent! I have been to Pike Place before, but I cannot remember my favorite vendor because I was 12 years old when I was there :)

My uncle lives in Seattle, it is a great city. I remember he showed me he had a brick engraved which is in Pike Place now, on the floor...it has his name and his ex-girlfriend's name. Yikes!!

  7. Hey Becca, thanks so much for stopping by to follow Twee Poppets! I'm glad to hear you loved Seattle! It's a wonderful city. :)

As for how I got followers so quickly...well, I attribute that largely to spending my life on the computer over the past week, haha! I've spent hours adding/commenting on blogs through Friday Follow and Follow Me Friday, and that's accounted for the majority of my followers. :)

  11. I wish Pike Place was just a bus ride away...! I love markets like this. My nearest, similar one is 27 miles away, but the produce doesn't look half as good!

And graffiti table? What a nice touch to leave!
